After looking for 2 months I finally found a good deal on a motor for my 65 Lone Star Jon Boat Found it on market place for $100.00 !
1967 Evenrude 9.5 Sport Twin. Looks great. Taking it down to Whitney tomorrow to my boat mechanic to let him go thru it . Carbs water pump ect .
Now to get it titled or not ? It ought to move my 12 ft well .

I had a Sport twin I ran for years! Very dependable. And easy to work on. Plus, they really wind up the RPMs. Ran it on 14 footers most of the time. Both semi-V and flat bottoms.

I wouldn't bother with a title. I had a '61 Johnson twin on my 14 tinny, and it would go about 14 with just me aboard. Those old OMC engines go forever, if they never get hot.
You can get almost any part you might need for spares at MarineEngine.com. IslandJim

I bought a 1988 9.9 back before Ceasar made the decree that all motors needed a title.
Never been ask yet to show a title, so I won't get one until I do.

Just one more cast!

This looks like a great place to include myself to the discussion:

Me:
Newbie to Wisconsin, I bought property with abandoned:
Starcraft 14' Sea Nymph on a trailer (In the back 40 of my property purchase but within the metes & bounds of the property description).
15hp Sears Gamefisher 2-cyl 2-stroke engine
Trailer for the above
Applied for (and received) updated vessel stickers until 2025 for a paltry sum, it's now mine.

The Gamefisher Sears/ Force engine is currently my biggest source of concern, as it has been sitting for some years (+5 and counting) and will needs some work / verification.
(SN's and product info available via PM) .
