Hello everyone. I was wondering, what is the average depth y'all are catching your white bass right now? Seems like at our local lake they aren't in there usual late spring/summer spots so I was just wondering how deep we should try to look in. Thanks!

Today we caught them in about 1' of water. The shad were spawning and they were right there with them scooping up an easy meal.

I just got back home. Caught them from 3pm until just before sundown anywhere from 24' to 4' as the day progressed to evening.

Thanks for the replies. Is there anything specific y’all are looking for when trying to locate the whites? Thanks.

We fished humps and points, if the birds were diving the fishing was better but we caught regardless. Find a main lake hump and we found fish. Caught aton of sandies, 3 channel cats on slabs yesterday as well as a handful of 12-13" hybrids. Some guys would chase them around, we just stayed locked and they always came back around to us.

Our plan was to fish for Sandbass early and Crappie after the Sandbass bite wore off. We were specifically looking for the shad spawn knowing the Sandbass would be right there with them. For the shad spawn there is no such thing as to shallow. Just look for flickering shad near the shoreline and there is a good chance the Sandies are there as well. We didnt see any surface activity at all even though they were chasing shad in 1' of water. The bite will only last about an hour but you can catch them every cast if you find them.
