The duramax seems like it has a ton of potential to get high 20's mpg and close to 1,000 ftlbs of torque, that's what I'm more interested in. The EPA stuff has got to go.

High 20mpgs..🤣🤣🤣

Is your Duramax stock or tuned? What is your MPG?

I just had my ol' 5.9 12V tweaked & tuned with new injectors, turned up the special sauce, did the valve lash and set my timing to 18.5*...and I'm only getting 17 on a good day. Didn't have to delete as I'm a certified dirty idler, but man she will pull a freight train.

Would love to see where a HD truck, 3/4 ton and above gets more than 25MPG.

Ohhhhhh ok, yeah I was worried you were gonna cut a hole in the bed and poke a 12 inch diameter stack out.

There some people in the metroplex that do that stuff , so much chatter about the inspection process changing tho. And over zealous troopers

My 5.9 2000 with the VP44 can get near 24 if I stay around 70. I did not do anything special other than F1 injectors and timing. If I had done an air dam, bed cover and stuff like that I might have crossed 25.

The record was 770 miles on a little over 32 gallons, from here to Saraland, Alabama then back on I10 and got fuel north of New Orleans.
At 80 mph it is a solid 20 plus normally.

I know it’s fun ( former Cummins owner) but I’m not sure why you feel the need?
Are you the idiot what wants to roll coal at every light, or next to every car you come across?
I dont see a reason other than wanting to be an a$$!

Interesting topic... Talking about diesels this evening.
20 years ago gasoline vehicles got 8-14 mpg on average...
Diesels got 16-24 mpg.
Diesel fuel was generally much cheaper at the pumps...

Currently diesel is roughly $1.30 more per gallon with all the EPA MPG emission choking [censored] on the truck...
Makes no sense anymore... The government has killed the incentive to own a diesel for the most part...
Why the Hell is diesel so much more??? (Internet expert please chime in here....)

Don’t forget that their investment portfolio is thru the roof and their health insurance premiums have gone down too
