I will be at Lake Belton next week. Can someone tell me a few locations to target smallmouth bass. I have not been on the lake in three years. I used to fish Belton for hybrids but I hear they are near extinct now. Thanks for some help.

It has smallies too. 11th and 12th are during the off limits period. Lake should be relatively normal those days. 13th is the official practice day. That day will be a mess for sure.

Rogers Park area all the way back South to the Dam. This. Any area around the dam, LATE in the evening or night time. I hung my very first small mouth around there on a crawfish rattle trap. Got him about 2 yards from the boat and he shook off. You had no idea how bad I was holding back tears cause my only reason to be at that lake was to catch my first smallmouth

I have only caught 4 smallmouth at Belton. First one was way up lake across from the Girl Scout camp. Was using a top water popper. I hope to catch a couple next week. I’ll try those locations. Someone on here suggested these. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/05/full-103443-138321-52c8595b_fa75_454b_8890_4d102a4bf8f9.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/05/full-103443-138322-a8bad254_40dd_460f_97d0_bebfea6fd2dc.png)

If the fish are biting on Belton, you WILL catch smallies. Maybe not too big, but you will catch them.

Caught a 4lber and several other a couple weeks back on rooster tail Mepps 4 casting shoreline from Gorlscout camp to Morgan point marina. Deep drops. But Ned rigs to crawfish style jigs. Good luck In fall, twitch a jerk bait over submerged trees in same area.
