Considering storing my boat down by the coast this summer. How safe is it to leave an onboard charger plugged in full time?

I didnt like the idea of 24/7 plugged in...just the aircraft maintenance background in me I guess. I have a weekly timer that I have set for 12 hours on, on Mon, Wed. and Fri. So far it;s been great for 8 years that I've been at my current location. works for me.

Mine is plugged in all the time. But I do exercise a little caution by putting a timer on the line. I think it's live 3 hours everyday. For as much as I get to use the boat, it's always full charged and ready to go when I get to it.

I bought a 2004 boat that has a Guest Charge Pro Model 2611 from 2003 on it. You guys think it's ok to leave it plugged in all the time? I am considering moving the boat to indoor dry storage and am wondering if it's safe to do that with what's on there or if I need to upgrade. Especially because I just upgraded the trolling motor to a minn kota terrova.

The boat I have now had a fire in the back when the on-board charger caught on fire. Luckily the guy was home when it happened or his entire house would have gone up in flames. Do what you want, but I don't trust leaving chargers plugged in 24/7. I charge my batteries and then unplug. Add a disconnect to the batteries if you have parasitic drain.
