If over about 2' you may be to deep.

Glad you posted this.

What about Trophy Blues? Does the same thing apply? Lake and Rivers?

This time of year we judge our depth in inches, not feet.

Bob,

Not impossible to catch trophy fish this time of year, but harder. I do not think they feed much during the spawn. After, it should be back to drifting and finding them... but warmer weather always harder for me than winter. Not impossible just harder.

But a lot of fun catching them one after another in shallow water right now. Downsize tackle a little if you want more fight!

Good luck buddy

Last weekend the dink bite was on full time. This Saturday, I may just take a package of raw chicken and just enjoy catching numbers. Bottom bouncing below G Dam can put a lot of eating sized cats in the cooler.

There's a chance somewhere between slim and none.

Saturday night week ago I caught a 32,26,16,13 lb'r and so many 5-10 lb'rs I lost count. The wind had been blowing up in this cove for 3 days........I expected a good bite. The bigger fish came in 6-10' and the smaller fish down to 2'.It was too windy to launch the boat so bank fishing it was...........I really enjoy catfishing from the bank anyway.

What rigs do you use for a shallow bite? Hook under a bobber or Carolina-type setup with a weight and hook about 8-9 inches above?

You ainโ€™t gonna catch any sittinโ€™ on the couch.
