MY neighbor had about 1/2 an acre beside his house sometimes there were a lot blooming at the same time.

Wife and I tried to make some prickly pear cactus jelly last year which turned out as syrup. Will try again this year with new recipe. The syrup is awesome on pancakes though. Beautiful blooms.
