Why does it have to smell so bad?

We are getting new counter tops installed tomorrow. Both bathrooms and kitchen. I’m disconnecting all the sinks in the house so they can pull the countertops and set new sinks.

They are all full of hair and gook. They all seem to spill on me while removing. I just realized none of them are going to fit up to the new sinks. Next up is the kitchen sink, add garbage disposal removal on this one.

It’s going to be a long Saturday trying to get all this plumbed back right.

Plumbing should be easy. I’m not good at it.

Maybe we should have a poem writing contest about P-Trap water.

I despise plumbing work, my old next door neighbor is a plumber and I relied on him for any repairs, but they moved so now hack my way around it when needed. Maybe Sawhorse can write and play us a P-Trap water jingle

It doesn't need to be difficult.

The flexible stuff is very forgiving, especially on older homes plumbing. I DESPISE plumbing. Brings back a lot of bad memories of a lot of beatings. If I HAVE to do it, I will, otherwise, I just pay someone these days.

I like the original pipe dope (yellow pipe sealant) more than the tape stuff...but I grew up using the liquid pipe sealant, so I guess I'm an old.

Never had an issue with P traps. Well, except one night in Kansas City.

Flexible p-traps are the equivalent of wearing sweatpants outside the home- no respectable man would do that..😆

p trap oh p trap why do you stink

you sit under my sink but you still stink

p trap oh p trap under my sink

if I could hire a plumber to deal with the stink

I would have put you in the garage so the gas smell would cancel the stink

what the hell did I win?

Please Mud, when you pull the traps, stuff a rag into the wall pipe to help stop sewer gases coming back into the house.

Hydrogen Sulfide

"The underground mine gas term for foul-smelling hydrogen sulfide-rich gas mixtures is stinkdamp, which is a cognate of the Dutch words for “stinking” and “vapor”.

I just did this. It was a beating but I only made one trip to lowes and required one assistant. Having a 1 1/2 inch pvc cutter helps a lot.
