Recently had active target and point one installed in the Lake Fork area. Having multiple problems and Lowrance rep advises that installation is the problem. Looking for your experience with expert level installers in the east texas area. Thanks for the help.

These active sonar systems needs lots of clean power, so that might be the issue. If you are using existing wiring you might need to upgrade the wiring going up to the bow. There kits to run wires direct from the battery box to the bow yourself, but a good installer will have what they need to make this upgrade for you. I do my own electronics installs, so I don't have first hand knowledge of how good the local installers are. The guys here should be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck.

I've never let anyone else install my electronics. What problems are you having.

I mounted my Active Target in my starboard rod box. I haven't calibrated a point one but there are a few prostaff guys down in the electronics forum that could probably help.

The answer to your question would be 1) Chuck, Perry or dropshot at Service marine will do it and do it right 2) The guys at Sartins will also treat you right Both are Lake Fork gurus

Same as above... Dedicated battery, Soldered Joints, Nice Shiny Wire. School of Moderate Knocks always wins. Did take me long to figure that out when I did my install. The 2 Hook 9's would work great as long as the AT was off. Turn on the AT and the power went down hill in a hurry.
