Anybody a member of this?
I stumbled on this and curious your experience on some of these Private Lakes.
I’m in the DFW area and looking for a nice place to take my little boy. He’s only 5, so maybe a couple years away from casting the bait caster. My goal is to find a place he can actually catch a few on the array of lures he’s accumulated and excited to try out.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

I am a member and have been for years. Great organization run by great people.
All the lakes have small boats. Most require you to bring your own troll motor & battery. Read the fishing reports from the lakes around DFW.
Give them a call and talk to Scott or Cole for more details.

Do you have any recommendations for bass lakes in the DFW area?

I looked at this awhile back and backed away because of the Daily Fees. I am not going to pay for a yearly fee, pay the money it takes to get to their lakes and also pay per person to fish. JMO.
In addition to the membership fee each member or member guest pays a daily access fee to each property.
Daily access fees are determined by location, beauty, site amenities, and the quality of fishing.
Daily fishing fees range from $60 to $225 per person for a full day of fishing and $45 to $130 for a 1/2 day of fishing. A half day of fishing is dawn to noon or noon to dusk.

I've been a member for a few years. I don't fish the properties as much as I would like to due to my work requirements and that I also fish big lakes. But for me it is well worth the annual fee and day use fee. The lakes are awesome and I'm able to take guests that don't fish a lot and put them on fish. I can go out on the big lakes solo and put in the work to boat a few fish and be happy. With PWF, I can take friends/family that don't fish often and get them into some action quickly. I really enjoy having the opportunity to fish these private lakes and I'll be a lifelong member.

If you ain't got the dime the PWF Co ain't got no time.

My now 13 year old daughter had her first fishing trip at 5. We went to 6.0 Ranch in Cleburne and wacked huge bluegill on her pink princess rod and bread balls. It was money well spent. 6.0 Ranch is one of the more popular lakes. We sat on the dock and caught them off the back of the moored boats.
In my opinion PWF is as good as it gets

We feel a more equitable way to charge is to charge a small yearly fee and a daily fee when you use our service. Our business model could allow us to charge only just one fee, but it would need to be several thousand dollars. The "all you can fish with one yearly price" model is how most private fishing clubs do it, but the barrier to entry is thousands, often 10's of thousands, and in some cases 100's of thousands. Yes, there are several fishing clubs in Texas that charge in excess of $100,000 to be a member. With 106 lakes to fish we feel we are the best value in private lake fishing in the country. Read our FB and Google reviews. Go to our fishing reports section and see if you agree. Thanks to those members and former members who chimed in. Steve
