I have a 2004 Mercury Optimax 225 that started beeping on me at start up and idle this weekend. It would stop after a few seconds of beeping. On one startup it beeped and then continued to beep when I tried to get up on plane. I pulled off and checked my oil reservoir. Due to a blue stain on the bottom half of my reservoir I couldn't tell for sure, so I added a jug of oil. After that it would only beep for a short period when I started it and left it in idle. When I took off it stopped. Any suggestions? I don't speak the language of the "beep" very well. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the remote tank on the motor is not full

Check the remote oil tank float sensor. They tend to stick --

does the motor go in limp mode and restrict the rpms? Those in motor oil tanks are notorious for failing, luckily not to hard to replace.
