 Rod, reel combo question

I ran into a situation this weekend that I need advise on. I have a Jason Christie rod paired up with a Kevin Van Dam reel. Is that combo ok to use to throw a Rick Clunn square bill on???

I don''t have any helicopter lures or bass pro line but I do have a David Fritz lure knocker in case I get the Rick Clunn square bill hung up.

What power is the rod and what is the gear ratio? That has way more to do with the correct pairing of rods and reels rather than the name on the side.
Maybe this is a joke and I just fell for it...

A friend of mine just caught his PB bass on a Helicopter Lure on OH Ivie Lake. He said he started fishing with some of his Dad's old lures after he passed away. I have heard of the Helicopter Lure, but never heard of this lake before. Good lure on a bad lake? Bad lure on a good lake? Not sure.

It was just a joke naming pros that have their name on equipment asking if it was ok to use different pro's equipment together. . LOL I don't really have a Jason Christie rod but I do have the Kevin VanDam reel made by Lews, the square bill and the lure knocker.
JUST JOKING ABOUT BEING ABLE TO USE THEM TOGETHER SINCE THEY WERE FROM DIFFERENT PROS.
