I see a lot of people use various baits like blue crab, mullet, sea lice, shrimp etc to catch Black Drum at Rockport.
My question is if using shrimp (which i read recently a lot of people down there using) how do you keep the hard
heads and perch from eating the shrimp before the drum does? My expierence as soon as it hits the water the bait
stealers are all over it.

I catch enough on plastics. Pretty sure they'd hit a rubber dog turd if you threw it in front of one.
