Seeking advice.
Using hook with a weed guard and an O-ring connected to the senko. Losing about 50% of the fish at some point after the bite. Some initially and some at the boat.
Thanks

I usually don't loose many on the wacky rig so I will just list what I use. Dobyns Sierra 683, 15# Invizx fluorocarbon line, Gamakatsu 2/0 round hook with weed guard, O-ring and a Yum Dinger.

Use 2 O rings and cross them. Make the bait be perpendicular to the hook instead of parallel with it.

If you're losing fish on a wacky rig I would suspect bluegill or very small bass. I miss maybe one outta 10 on a wacky rig and when I do I always suspect a baby bass or bluegill

Are you "setting the hook" or are you just reeling into them? Make sure the hooks are prickly sharp and let the bass hook themselves. Make sure you keep the rod bent with pressure on when pulling them in.

I use Owner Circle hooks in 3/0 for wacky plus added benefit of not being deep throated.

Been fishing the wacky rig for years and years. Every time I go. Best setup for fishing them that I have found is the Berkeley Fusion weighted wacky hook. It has two stainless weed guards. Bend them inwards to around 1/16-1/8” BEHIND the hook point. They aren’t weedless any longer, but you’d be amazed at how well those two stainless wires are at keeping the hook barb stuck into the fishes mouth. I use a 1/16” weight version. With no worm band. I WANT the worm to fly off on hookset or during the fight. It just gets in the way of setting hooks or becomes leverage when the fish jumps. I fish the hooks on a medium/moderate rod, 20lb braid to a 12lb leader of InvisX. I very seldom lose fish on it…and it works for BIG fish too.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

Use 2 O rings and cross them. Make the bait be perpendicular to the hook instead of parallel with it. Good idea. My hookup ratio is pretty solid regardless but that's still a good idea and less likely a fish pulls the worm out of the o-ring.

Inichi wacky jig is my go-to. The weed guard is a single tungsten strand.

I'm with Coolarrow- I've used Falcon wacky hook with weedguard many years & hardly ever lose fish after hook up. Good luck all.
