Had a great morning out today with my 80 year old Dad and 15 year old son.

We got a little bit of a late start, but found some bait - shad and a buffalo, and headed for shallow water. Anchored up in a creek channel about 2' deep, 68 degree water, shallow as I can get with my boat, and then cast all around. Put 19 blues in the boat between 2-10 lbs. Fished about 4 hours. Released everything as I have a good supply in the freezer for now. Son hooked up on one bigger fish but it got him wrapped around a stump and broke off. Saw it slap the top a couple of times before he lost it - probably around a 20.

Was a great day with family!

Happy Easter all - God Bless.

Good work and spending time with your family is always a gift, the shallow water bite is happening or so I heard
