Good money for a job that really anyone can do with a little training.

The turnover rate for OTR truck drivers was at a staggering 91% in 2019.

Bad conditions, bad pay and too much corporate oversight all contributes to it being a bad job

That is good money, and sounds like they are fronting the training as well.

That is one job that takes a special kind of person to do. I certainly don't have the patience or personality for it, mad props to those who do!

Odd hours, odd days, might even be 'on call's. Not the best.

Just think about all the pharmacists that spent 4-6 years getting their license and work for Wally World that don't make that kind of money. Bet their salary goes up also, which means groceries and every thing else will also.

Pretty sure retail pharmacists start around 115 and it’s hourly work, truckers are working a lot more hours to get that pay.

Does it matter if I have no depth perception and can barely back up an F150?

they can only work 70 hrs. a in a 7 day period then have to have a reset of 36 hrs. if they hit 70, do it right and you can keep a log running non stop but no 11hrs. of driving.

wally world is the cake walk driving job, you never touch freight, all drop and hook at the stores or dc. they have always paid really well for driving but now it's about 10k better.

rarely out more than one night and some (senior types) are home daily, you get a route more or less and do turnarounds to your stores, sometimes you may sit while a partial offload is goin on.

I use to deliver to the dc's and sams clubs and talked to a lot of drivers. only drawback to them is it is very corporate and structured.

not a bad co. to drive for if you don't want to be out weeks/months at a time. benefits are off the chart good too.
