When you have a refund coming it could take weeks or even months but if you owe them they darn sure hammer that check the day they get it.

I must have been lucky this year. The refund was deposited in my account a week after E filing. And you are correct about them cashing your check pronto.

Same here we overpaid on the quarterly payments and the refund was in my account within a week. The E filing is the only way to go if a refund is expected. I am sure it takes them much longer to cut a paper check.

My buddy’s wife died last year and he’s still trying to get his refund, they keep giving him the run around. But this year, they sure did want the money that he owes them and he couldn’t use last years refund in exchange for this years taxes.
