I'm sure this has been covered before, I am in the market for a depthfinder on the bow, I wanted to get the largest screen possible, wanted to stay under 1000.00. From what I have read, you dont need SI on a bow mounted depthfinder, I came across a lowrance elite 12 ti2 for around 900.00, has anyone had any experience with this unit, I run a humminbird at the driver seat. It seemed like a good deal. Thank you in advance.

if you plan on upgrading to the latest greatest trolling motor, livescope etc. take that into consideration.
I have 3 9" garmins, 2 on bow and one at console and they are plenty good enough for me.
as to side image on bow, I used it to "scan" water around me since the ducer is on trolling motor, now have livescope and still use si off and on for different reasons.

the other consideration is do you want to be able to link bow/console? if so then you have to match up the brand so they can communicate with each other.

any 12" for less than 1k is a good deal if it is new/fairly new, if it is a discontinued model be sure you can still update it if need be.

What Hop said. Brand new Garmin 106 on sale at BP and other places for $999. 2D, down and side imaging. Works great with Livescope if you ever decide to get one.

Thanks for the response, I dont really plan on doing the high tech trolling motor or livescope, etc. I am retired, live on a small lake, dont fish tourneys, just wanted a better look while at the trolling motor, I have a humminbird 898 at the drivers seat. I dont think I'll need to link console to bow. I wanted the biggest screen I vould get, my eyes aren't what they used to be, thats why I wondered about the lowrance 12, sounded pretty good.

The TI2 12 would fit your needs, You also can get a top of the line Lowrance HDS Carbon 12 for 1499.00 at BP or Cabelas It has the best Screen resolution even better than the Elite TI 2 and it also has great readability in the sun at all angles with sunglasses over the TI2. Comes with the latest AI 3-1 transducer and a Cmap Discovery Card with depth shading and lots of 1 ft contours on many lakes in Texas. They have those on display so you can look at them. If you ever did want to ad the new ACtive Target Live Sonar it also works on the Carbon so you have expansion ability on that over the Elite TI2. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Thanks Larry, I have to figure out what I might do in the future in regards to livescope, etc. Lots to choose from. I think I saw you at bass pro in Garland Saturday morning, I was picking up a new trolling motor, I may holler at you when I get ready to do something, thanks again for the response.

I was told this past weekend by the department lead, that Bass Pro Grapevine has two new Carbon 9 with AI 3-1 in shipment to the store at $799. I was also told they have 47" & 52" Ghost on the way to the store.
