Anyone familiar with a Toyota dealer that's selling for MSRP?(that sounds crazy enough..)

Thinking of downsizing to a Tacoma and the few I've called are all adding a 3-4k customer fee on top of MSRP. These are dealers in the metroplex area.

I've been using sites like truecar.com and cargurus.com to help narrow down the search. At the very least it gives you an idea of the dealerships adding mark ups above MSRP to weed them out.

I've found two dealerships so far selling at MSRP with no markup. Lubbock and Abilene TX

Good to know, the dealer near me tacked on a $15000 market adjustment on the new Tundra 4x4 Supercrew and Supercab V6 twin turbo trucks! I went there intending to buy one but no way at that markup! I left with a very nice used 4x4 F150 Supercrew 3.5L Ecoboost... and got a very generous trade in on my 2004 Tundra with 217000 miles. I'll wait a couple years and trade it in on the Tundra, maybe.... this truck is great!

Might reconsider the Taco given the new 3.5L Tundra, I know a lot of disappointed people with Tacomas due to towing power and fuel mileage. Yes they were better on fuel than the 5.7 Tundra but will not come near the new Tundra for mileage and power/performance!

I've got 2 close friends with the new tundra. Both are pretty disappointed in the mpg so far...
I love the look of them, but I'm currently in a 2021 F150 3.5 ecoboost that's getting really nice mpg.
I've only got 12k miles on it, but averaging around 21 mpg for its life span. I will admit I rarely cruise faster than 70, so sure that number would drop if I drove faster. Anyway, thanks for the help.

Have a couple of friends with new Tundras and they are already having turbo problems. Apparently a wastegate issue. Parts are on backorder and the truck has been at the dealership for 6 weeks now. One had less than 300 miles on it. Might want to consider yourself lucky.

Interesting, that engine has been in the Lexus suv for several years. I may have lucked out for sure!

Apparently it is a bad patch of parts from the supplier. It happens to all manufacturers

As we used to say in drag racing, "There's no substitute for cubic dollars!". Oh, no! Sorry, that was cubic inches. When you take a small engine and turbo it to get the power of a big engine, guess what goes away? Not gas mileage, but engine life. If I was towing anything of moderate size and/or weight, I'd prefer a big, naturally aspirated engine, gas or diesel. Your non-towing mileage might not be great, but when towing, you'd have the power and probably get about the same mileage. RV makers have been lightening their trailers, but you're still pulling a light parachute.
I couldn't believe it when Toyota put the little turbo engine in the Tundra. But, we have to remember that our Congress is squeezing them to increase their overall mileage.
Things will never be the same. I'll keep my 4-banger Tacoma till it quits or rusts past repairability. IslandJim

Said from the beginning Toyota was dumb for putting out that turbo instead of just an update of old reliable 5.7...oh well

That’s the epa forcing that nonsense, auto makers have to maintain a fleet wide mpg nonsense for the epa gooberment [censored] and the the 5.7 was dragging em way down.. lol.. Seems the days of the v8 are almost over if we don’t figure out how to stop the commies

These aren’t your turbo engines of yesteryear. Their built from the ground up to handle the boost. They last just as long as a n/a motor doing the same work.

We're just screwed when it comes to stopping the killing off of V8 engines. Dodge has announced no more V8. Chevy is working on phasing out all of their V8s. Everyone is pushing this electric BS.
