Today started really badly for me. Fish were jumping everywhere but I had tons of gear problems and when I finally got a bite the knot holding my mono backing on my little reel came off and I lost a fish, my line and a brand new lure- I was so upset. Anyways, after moving around the lake and using an old backup reel with 15 year old line on it I finally started getting into some fish. As usual you have to search for them in Medina and nothing bigger than 11-12 inches but I did OK, though most of them came off at the boat. I think I hooked 8 or 9 LMB and caught one white bass- spawning must be ending? The water was beautiful and 67 degrees and so I took a swim after lunch, very refreshing though it smell because the water is so low all the fresh water mussels are drying out. Talked with a couple young guys in a boat and they said they only had one and that was at about 10:00.
