Outdoor channel or Myoutdoortv app I think is the only places to see it

They have, however, found a way to create fishing content for the less hardcore tournament guys. I feel like this is more geared to the youtube followers (which I AM NOT saying is a bad thing, especially if you're in it just to make money).

They are trying to make it a viable pro sport not just guys playing for their own money like club racing or something. It may or may not work but at least they are trying, the old model was going to continue to be pay to play regardless.

even with ESPN ownership,a few scenes of the leader catching a fish then hauling five fish across weigh stage never generated more than 30-35 hours of TV viewing per year....in a few short years,MLF has become the most popular outdoor show and has over 800 hours annually of TV time....high school and college fishing growth is exploding which is going to create more tournament fans and we are already seeing large increases in boats, equipment and tackle sales.....increased sales and exposure for their product is why companies sponsor fishermen and MLF is certainly providing that.....

I got a trial subscription to MyOutdoor app via Apple TV. If you sign up for a year you get 30 days free up front. If you do the monthly sub, you get 7 days free.

I was going to binge watch before the 30 days are up, then cancel before I had to pay. But there is so much to see, I'm going to just pay the subscription. I've been watching all of the Challenge Cup events that were in Texas. It's been educational (I'm watching their locations and tactics for our waters). Maybe once I catch up in a year or two, I might drop it, but for now I'm enjoying.

Like many have said, the 5-fish format was ingrained in me. I've been fishing tournaments for too many decades to mention, and I recall one thing we always said was how to get better TV coverage for bass fishing. MLF is getting it. Even the non-anglers in our family like it.

One of the limiting factors of live coverage is the poor reception of transmission signals in remote lakes. But the technology is improving.

I chuckle at the 5 fish format comments. When I watch BPT they are doing nothing different than they do in a BASS event. They both want the 5 biggest fish they can catch - BPT just wants more than 5 and keeps a running total. Almost always, the leaders have several big fish that anchor their totals. And I bet if you took their 5 biggest, it would be a respectable bag for either on the same lake. Just my 2 cents.

complete agreement , I got 15 minutes and had to record it . In my 40+ years of bass fishing , I learn more from the MLF format than any other show .
the banter between them was fun ---- the Lane brothers --- " I'm gonna start out with a slow top water back here " , " OK , that's because your stupid "

That’s what the saltwater guides do....lol. I have been with more that never turned on the GPS but were on the cell constantly if they were not on them. ”You go north, how many you got in the box?” “What are you catching them on?” “What color?” “ Let me know it they turn on.”

If they are slamming them they don’t answer. “That guy never gives me good info.” ......lol. So if the other guy doesn’t answer and you went north and he went south you go south....lol.

Could be interesting. I didn’t watch it.

I thought it was great but I’ll watch any televised tournament, live or rebroadcast. I don’t care what the format is, I’m thankful we have viewing options. Also for anyone who might not be aware, Direct TV and Dish will let you add The Outdoor Channel to your package for an extra fee (~$5/mo). Other providers may as well…not sure.
