Wife and I are heading to Caddo in a couple of weeks. We are staying in a cabin right off of Goose Prairie. I've always fished the main lake up in and around Government Ditch, but was wondering about Goose prairie. There's hardly anything about it online. Was wondering if any of you could give me some information about fishing this area in April. Looks like a great spawining area just from what I can tell from google maps. Thanks for any info,
Jack

It's usually shallow year around. It holds fish but due to boat tours and mud boat races its tough to fish it

i was at Caddo this weekend. I didn't go to Goose Prairie but a buddy did and he only caught 1. Water temps were between 61-66 depending on where you went. I tried to fish in Turtle Shell ( opposite side of the river from Goose Prairie / old Folks ) and water was pretty dirty with alot of floating broken up sylvannia and moss. I found better success fishing Big Green Break tree's throwing an Black or Black n Blue Senko rigged Tx style ( no weight ). the lake was fishing tougher than i would have thought, but next few weeks may have them suck on the tree's. Only saw a few bedding fish and they were tough to cast to.

We had a huge wave of fish push up last Sunday evening. Fishing was awesome till Wednesday and just plan got tough after that. I went out yesterday and saw a ton of empty beds…..
