I overheard a guy in the Mercury booth at RedCrest asking about availability on a 150 pro xs to repower his boat, they told him it was a 24 month wait right now…😮

Wow, I’ll be screwed when my ol’ merc blows, guess it’ll be many days of trolling motor only.

Yup they are forcing you to buy a new boat or wait. I’m with you I’d just trolling motor as far as I could go until the new motor arrived.

You sure it wasn’t “2 to 4 months”? 2 years seems like an extremely long time when talking 150’s. Hell, it didn’t take them that long to design the motor and build the first one.

I’m not surprised. Just another reason to keep up your maintenance and rebuilding might be a better route than replacing these days.

i just ordered a new 90hp merc for inventory here at S2 Marine.
was told it was 100 days. it shipped to me in less than 3 weeks.
i'll have in on April 4th.


most big production engines are taking right at 54-58 weeks.

race engines are taking 6 months to come in.
