I am thinking about buying Active Target transducer and box. I am looking at mounting on the transom because I primarily fish open water and would use down scan almost exclusively. I have searched but cannot find anything on mounting the transducer on the transom. I have also looked at poles but just more clutter in the boat.

I’ve thought about adding a second unit just for this purpose, but the beam width is very narrow and you’d most certainly miss a lot of targets. If it had a wider beam, it would be superb for this application. Right now, it’s just too skinny.

And perspective/scout is borderline worthless.

You will have to search to find out who sells this the Navico Store most likely has it, I have not seen it locally but West Marine may have it to order check thier website There is one in Garland.

Down View works great in Deep Water I know several fisherman who use it Bottom Fishing in the Pacific Down to 200 Ft and several that troll for Salmon use forward view out the transom to watch how the fish react to there baits while trolling. They can then change speed, Lure color and size ETE ETE..

The Lowrance Outlet store has them along with several other retailers. I am more interested in mounting location on the transom. I downloaded the transducer installation PDF but it only had instructions for trolling motor mounting. I thought that since Lowrance refers to it as a transom mount transducer they would have instructions to do that.

Thanks, looks like I did not search enough. I did not know that about the outlet store. I don't think it matters where I buy the unit from. Looks like same price everywhere. The outlet store is higher on the mount.
