Going to hit a HOT spot that was on FIRE last year. Fished it twice this year and so far the bite was slow . Water was on the cold side. To early. Hopefully the fish get active. The waterbody is in very good shape. Also will be fishing the hill country. thumb

Leo do you ever have snakes visit you when camping on the boat? I suppose Rocco will guard you now.

Same here. Double digit wind speeds does me no favors out on my kayak.

I have not had any snakes visit us yet we have had racoons climb down the branches of overhanging trees that we were tied off to trying to climb in the boat though.

I think Pot Licker could probably cook anything and make it taste good so maybe she could fix you some barbecue racoon if you pop an unwelcome visitor, lot of protein there. Snakes would be a concern for me unless I could completely close access off for them, you guys catch so many fish the smell could attract them.

very true, she can make anything taste good! in summer when we just use our mosquito net it is tucked under our sleeping mat so nothing can get in. we also bought a new tent this year. it pops up in 2 seconds. is completely waterproof and is the same size as the deck of our boat. we have used it in these cooler months and it worked great thumb

Glad to see you're still at it! Got an email alert to an ancient thread and stopped in to take a look. I got taken out of the game and have had three back surgeries in the last three years. Doing fine, but still out of the game as far as fishing goes. Really glad to see you're still at it!!!!

Hang in there. Hope you make a full recovery or at least be able to get some fishing time in! I have several friends who are going through the same thing. Bad backs are tough. Will be praying for a good recovery. Keep the faith! angel2

I talked with a kayaker last week at Converse Lake and he said the same thing. The bite was picking up. hooked

Side Note: With the amount of fishing pressure on that small lake I am very surprised it has maintained a very good fish population. thumb
