Anyone been to choke lately? Curious about the water temps and how tough it is.

Warmest I saw was 61, but someone here said they saw 70’s. Marginal fishing, plenty of 2-3lb fish and way too many people there now for the size of the lake. Definitely needs to fill up for as many people as there are fishing it now. I think they are done spawning, but might be some scragglers still. Most of the water is trashed from the constant fronts or return south winds, not much clean water to fish. I wouldn’t drive a long ways (I’m assuming you’re coming from Fork) to fish it, maybe if these fronts will quit rolling in, it might get more consistent. Not sure why there aren’t many bigger fish being caught, might be they don’t like the colder water, not sure.

I do see guy’s claiming 30lb bags, but they sure don’t post pics or show in the tournament results (except BassChamps had 1 I believe), so… confused 3

A lot of the hydrilla is damaged from the winds of fronts, not sure if that’s good or bad. I’m sure it’ll grow back shortly.

Like Grout said, low to mid 60s last week. I couldn’t find much clean water and struggled only catching a few. Boats on top of each other in 4 fingers and dam where the clearer water is. I’m driving further this week to a different lake.

My buddy at Amistad said it was picking up out there, too far for a 1 day trip though. Another lake that desperately needs water. Canyon is surprising me, something happening over there! About time too, maybe it’s the ‘drilla.

And these guides at LBJ keep catching bass over 10lbs, we are going the wrong direction!

There are a few good ones to be caught if you know where to look.

Well, do tell us where to look then. Did you just catch that one or did you find more of them with it?

Definitely challenging doing the self photo and having fish look big.

This guy on a FB group always post pics like this. He loves Choke, lol! As many people as I see keeping bass from there, they must sure be tasty.

Had a 23lb bag that day. Like was said...water is dirty pretty much everywhere but likely spawning areas around the river are your best bet right now. The prison flats should be on fire soon if not already.

Glad there wasn't a couple 8 or 9 lbers. on that table! The guy must have kept them off to the side so he could make it home alive!
