I had my first decent day of fishing here for the year, but it took a lot of work. Plenty of fish were feeding when I got there at 7:50 but none of them near the park wanted to bite for me so I moved on. I can't find my fishing pliers and the first fish I caught was a crappie who swallowed my lure. it took me quite a while to get the hook out, I hope he survived. I think I landed 4 bass total and lost 2 at the boat, plus the crappie so not a bad day. The biggest bass was about 12 inches. No white bass, they are probably up in the river still. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/03/full-113185-133010-276320373_10159146983668172_3156498313615047350_n.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/03/full-113185-133011-277004259_10159146983643172_7356326331239271591_n.jpg)

I caught 10 crappies the other evening and some largemouth but have no idea how to get on the whites in this lake. Went upstream and trolled but to no avail, the water gets skinny and the trees become almost too thick for anything but a canoe.

I usually catch white bass there by accident. I don't know where they are at the moment, but after they finish spawning I usually catch some trolling in the main channel.

Follow up on Medina.
Fished Friday 3/25. Water temp about 58 -59 in most water from County Park and north. Started around 8:00 or 8:30. Did not catch a fish until 11. From 11-12:30 caught 17 largemouth practically on the bank. Soft plastics on a shaky head. All within a 100 yard stretch of bank in creek channel. Considerable zebra mussels so don't forget to re-tie your lures frequently. I lost about 4 due to that. Typical Medina fish from 12 inches to maybe 2 pounds, most averaged about 16 inches, guessing. Did see lots of people trolling in the river channel. Not sure if they had luck or not. Lake is starting the Spring really low.
