Thanks MathGeek, I enjoyed that video. Nice white meat. I've cleaned a few but it was always a wrestling match for me!

Yes, even with the tin snips it's more work than most fish. Really tough without them.

Yep but once done with the tin snips you don't even need a knife.............pretty sweet and the gar balls are quite delicious

Yeah, I've done that. I used a mallet and wood chisel to start it and to euthanize it, because being out of water for an hour isn't enough to kill a gar.
