I was fortunate to attend The Classic in Greensboro, NC., in 1994 and it was one of the most exciting sporting events I have ever attended. Bryan Kerchal was leading at day three weigh-in and Tommy Biffle
was the last to weigh in. The excitement was off the charts as Biffle raised a six pounder out of his livewell and the place went wild. It was so loud you could not hear anything. Biffle stepped up to the scales, Ray Scott
called out the weight and it fell short of Kerchal's. The place exploded like it was the Super Bowl, and your team had just made a goal line stand to win.
I have attended two out of the last three Classics and except for Ott"s it seems
as if it was almost ho-hum. Not to diminish Cherry's or Christie's wins but now there just isn't the same level of excitement or anticipation because we know the outcome before it happens. Years later I ran into Biffle
at a BP event and told him I was at that Classic and that I thought he had beat Kerchal and he replied so did I. Miss those days of fishing. What do you guys think?

This, I don't care for these scoping tournaments and Classic just a few years ago felt more special and one 15 years ago felt even more special. It is what it is.

I was driving during the live weigh in and I streamed it on my phone. I thought the MC was going to have a hernia trying to get the crowd to "make some noise" about 100 times. While I may have had a bad perspective from my phone, it didn't seem the crowd was all that pumped.

I have spent the past 50 years spitting in their mouths...increasing the size of Texas fish with every spit!

Agree 100%. It's all made for television now. " make some noise, or "making a tv moment -cheer! " Very boring to me.

Best Classic weigh in moment for me was 1989- Hank Parker win over Jim Bitter- " put 'em on the scales Dewey " What a crowd roar when he took the lead. You can still watch some of those Classic weigh in's Bassmaster archives or youtube.

Just my opinion.

I'll never forget these moments as long as I live. I saw it the first time it was broadcast on TNN and I still to this day pull that one up and watch it on You Tube every once in a while, and sometimes it brings tears because I always wondered what Bryan could have become..........

I think itโ€™s not like it was back then is because the best anglers never fish it anymore are should I say the well known named anglers are not fishing in it .

I prefer to watch in real time the on-the-water action. It doesn't matter to me who wins. Weigh ins are boring.
