How many folks travel to the lake with your electronics still mounted in brackets or do you remove them first.

never remove mine, I only go about 3/4 mile to and from the locked storage facility. I do check the graphs and make sure they are tight. `

I did until my last trip to fork. Got there and the 93sv on the console had come out of the cradle and was in the floor of the boat. Just dumb luck that it didn't end up bouncing down the highway somewhere. Now both graphs come out of the cradles and in the truck when trailering.
"Life is a matter of luck and the odds of success are in no way enhanced by extreme caution." - Erich Topp, German U-boat Commander, 1943.
When in doubt, set the hook.

I take them off traveling out of state and staying in hotels etc. I leave em on for day to day fishing around here.

All my units are connected & mounted to the boat while traveling to and from the lakes only problem I had was having a screen cover blow off once while en route. I will however at times remove my console unit when planning a trip to a new lake to mark areas of interest while in my computer room using www.navionics.com before I even get on the water.

have always used an old cheap plastic briefcase to carry mine, off the boat when I load or store it and put on before out of storage. I keep the boat at fork.

Thanks guys, Just wandering what everyone was doing. With the cost of new units I will start traveling with them off. Five minutes more at ramp is worth doing and not losing a $1500 graph.

Well the solix 12 at the helm or also called captains chair is fixed and Permanently mounted in the dash so it has to stay. The livescope screen and helix 7 up front on the double mount cornfield crappie telescope stay off while traveling and while sitting not being used as I keep them in a leather brief case satchel.
Don't believe everything you hear and half of what you see . Living for the Thump !!
