Purchased my policy from Worldwide Marine Underwriters last October. I specifically asked about roadside at the time and was told it was included with the policy. The policy itself states "Roadside Assistance w/Trailer Covg" Unlimited $$.
So, on March 1st I was headed to the lake when My boat & trailer came off the ball on my truck. The chains did their job & I pulled over as far as I could to get out of traffic. I am 70 years old and can no longer lift anywhere near what I used to....could not budge it. Traffic at this point was light as it was 5:15 am. I called the roadside assistance number provided by Worldwide Marine & got the Progressive folks after a few promps. The 1st lady I spoke with took all my information & said that this issue was handled by another department & that she would transfer me...she accidentally cut me off so we started over. The second lady successfully transferred me, but the department she transferred me to told me that was not their responsibility (they only handled on water towing) and transferred me back. At this point I am told that they do not cover this type of roadside assistance. I explained that it was specifically on my policy but got nowhere..They just kept saying that they were sorry, but they could not help. After 45 minutes of this nonsense I hung up and just dealt with it on my own.
On 3/7/22 I called Worldwide Marine and explained what had happened. Bill told me this should not have happened and would look into it. As of today 3/15/22 I have not heard a word back.
All I can say is if you ever need roadside assistance these guys cannot be trusted...

I had a very similar incident with AMAC Roadside Assistance. I called and spoke to a roadside assistance dispatcher who said he would send a wrecker. After 2 hours and several phone calls, no tow truck arrived. I ended up getting help from a neighbor.
This apparently is not an uncommon occurrence as AMAC has a customer service representative assigned to specifically handle roadside assistance problems.
The policy is underwritten by NationSafeDrivers.com. Their customer service representative told me that they don’t have tow companies under contract in this area but only offered an apology.
After several more calls to AMAC, I ended up getting my yearly subscription refunded.
They shouldn’t be allowed to sell policies in areas where they don’t have coverage.

Pappybear...I agree 100 %. The thing that bugs me the most is that I SPECIFICALLY asked about it before I wrote the check. Won't be renewing the policy with these guys...or recommending them to any other boaters...

I also asked and was assured that they had coverage anywhere you were located in the United States. That’s fraud, plain and simple.

Sorry, that happened to you sir. I had a flat on my Basscat trailer a couple of years ago on 290 coming back to Humble from Fayette. It was raining so I called Progressive also brokered through World Wide Marine. Guess i got lucky, had no problems getting them to send someone out. The guy they sent arrived in about an hour after I called and had me back on road 15 minutes later. Also had a couple guys towing a skeeter stop and check on me as well. Really Appreciated that as too. Lucky day i guess.

Progressive took good care of me when I blew out a front axle on my boat trailer. Had to wait 4 hours for an extra long tow truck to slide my boat and trailer on the wrecker. Never paid a dime for their road side assistance.
