Horton posted on social media that this will be his last year competitively fishing. He states that he's kind of been half in, half out between the BPT & filming for his shows. He'll concentrate fully on the teaching side and his fishing media.

Horton has finished towards the bottom of the BPT standings since it's inauguration. Is this a sign that maybe BPT will be making those cuts to the bottoms anglers, allowing the top Pro Circuit anglers to level up? Or it's simply that his heart isn't into any longer? I understand that a few did get the invite to the BPT but it hasn't played out like they intended. I guess time will tell.

I think based upon his statement...his heart isn't in the tournament grind anymore...who knows, he could be making a ton of money from his instructional stuff and that could also lead to decision making. Either way, he left his mark on the fishing world and now he is passing the torch. Class act if you ask me.

They should be making cuts this year but haven't yet, I guess wait and see. Could be a writing on the wall type deal like what Brian Snowden did last year on the Elites quit before you get cut to save face. There are 2 or 3 other BPT guys that been there all 4 years and been at the bottom of the standings the whole time, Horton been just above that. I remember Timmy won that MLF Naconiche round that was on National TV, don't know if he's had much else to show in the MLF format, he's very hot or cold people forget he won Bassmaster AOY in 2000.
