My button for spot lock on my ultrex is not working. Spot lock does work with the remote. Does this need to go to a service center or something easy to fix?

Could possibly be as simple as an obstruction under the button. A small piece of a plastic bait will cause this. Other than that pretty much over my head. You can try the BBC Boards and search for more answers. BBC

Yeah I would try removing the switch and cleaning it. Could be a piece of debris or a spider in there.

Mine acted up a while back, my scissors from up front were under the pedal. LOL, had the exact same thing happen a few weeks ago. spotlock kept disengaging. Drove me nuts until I figured it out.

The button is not stuck or acting like anything is restricting it. You can press it, feel it goes down all the way. Just doesn’t feel like it’s engaging if that makes much sense

My ribbon cable under the pedal had a kink in it that caused a short and spot lock to not hold from pedal or remote but everything else work. Cable affixed to board they had to change board in pedal to fix. Mine was under warranty. Also my on/off switch shorted and wouldn’t turn off. Have them check to make sure you have most current if you take it in.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=We30kkOjgxI Had this problem last week. This video was the solution. Title of the youtube video is " Minn Kota Ultrex Frozen Foot Pedal" by Capt Jeffrey Worth. It was the motor that actually turns the trolling motor that had come loose and disconnected from the power supply. Easy fix, a liitle time consuming to get to it.

If none of this works, it could be the steering sensor in the foot pedal. The exact same thing happened to me. It is a service call but takes less then an hour to fix. Mine was fixed at Texas Trolling Motors at Lake Fork under warranty. Called made an appointment and was fixed quickly while I waited. If interested the phone # is: 903-850-4477
