From the TPW website
Gibbons Creek Reservoir is closed to the public as of 12/25/21.
Doesn't say why it why it was closed.

Wow! ! ! I can remember going to GCR back around 1985-ish when it first opened. Was in college and went there to sit in the Stand-By line. Fortunately there were a lot of no-shows and my buddy and I got in. That was a fun day. Boy-o-Boy everybody wanted to fish that lake.

Found out it was sold to a local investor group after it was decommissioned. It will become a private lake. Hard to say goodby to a great fishing Lake. There is a new Lake that is under construction in the Northern area of the GREAT State to be named Bois d`arc. Can`t wait to fish it.

7600 acres with a 16000 mitigation area so about the same size as grapevine. Water for the north Texas water district.
