Yesterday I filled my truck : the machine that I Use to work with uses gas and diesel. OVER $200 dollar. The fuel for machine will be gone in one or two days of work. I have seen a thread about fuel for boats --some said they would fish closer to home---some say they will not fish the tournaments that are a long distance from their home---some are thrilled they have a smaller rig.
I dont know where the Fuel prices are going. I am lucky to live close to Palestine and Tyler. I like many love to fish - It is a way to get away from the stress of life for a little while. I do captain a couple of high school boys. I hope that I can continue this.
What measures are you taking during this High fuel prices. Fishing closer to home? Up keep on equipment?
Looking for tips on saving fuel to and from lake. Tips on your boat to save fuel.
I think many would be interested in learning 'how to save' during these high fuel prices.

The fuel prices now will be considered cheap, compared to the prices in 2 months. There is only 1 way to save fuel, don’t buy it, a lot of these tournaments will come to a halt unfortunately. We haven’t even discussed the repercussions of the fuel cost to goods that we purchase in everyday life. Groceries will be beyond belief and every bill you get will go up due to the businesses fuel cost having gone up. The blue collar people will get crushed in this mess and the idiot in the White House will finally cave in when it’s too late to do any good.

Tip: start saving your money now, we’re gonna need it later. The rainy day is gonna hit in a few months. I hate to sound so negative, but there are some dark and scary times coming this round.

Yes, FJB for not helping us out when he could allow maximum drilling to proceed.

I remember in 2008 when fuel prices spiked - lot of tourney anglers stayed home. And yes, I know guys buy $100,000 rigs and thus (they can afford it) but the counter to that argument is a lot of guys make payments on their rig and $500 in gas to fish a team tourney 4-5 hours away can affect a lot of guys and gals quickly.

Bet a lot of people stay closer to home, maybe don't make long runs in the boat.
