Going to be visiting friends in Vegas in May and thought I might try this legendary lake on the CA/AZ border for redear. Any suggestions/tips appreciated, including where I might be able to rent a boat or kayak for a day. Thanks!

Never fished it but I'd love to put the tube on it and tangle with one of those 5lb shellcrackers.

I personally have never fished Havasu. A good friend of mine Fred aka Rionator has fished Havasu several times over the years and has caught a lot of "MONSTER REDEAR". He has caught Redear in the 2 to 3 pound range and plenty of them off of Havasu. I think he will be going there sometime this year. Very well worth the trip.

Having just moved from Arizona last June. April is your best bet for fishing Small Mouth Bass. Small mouth will be on their beds. Bluegills will be more active once it starts heating up, May or June. Renting a boat is better than kayak since lake is pretty decent size. I fished Parker one year in the summer. Parker is just south of Havasu. It reached 127 degrees.
