El Gato did it again. We got together yesterday to see what the catfish were doing now that the spring transition is beginning. The fishing was really tough. We found fish in 10-12 feet close to standing timber and set up a drift but within 3 minutes we had 3 or 4 setups hung up and broken off. We only ended up with one 12 or 14 pounder during all this mess. Lost a couple of pretty good fish though. Also lost about 3 or 4 more setups. During all this Chris was live-streaming on YouTube. We finally gave in and decided to throw in the towel. Chris ended the live-stream and we pulled everything up. On our way back to the boat ramp he says "there's a spot I've been wanting to go look at" and so we did. We stop at this spot that's got a small channel in about 24 fow. The sonar and side scan is lit up with fish and we decide to do a quick drift before we head back to the boat ramp. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/03/full-111082-131163-030622_lavon.jpg) Glad we did!! My new PB at 44 pounds! ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/03/full-111082-131164-030722_lavon1.jpg) Chris with a 30 pounder (that fought like a 50!). We caught about 6 or 8 fish after we moved to this spot with two of them 0ver 30 pounds. Had several teeners and maybe a couple just over. Didn't weigh every fish but it was really good fishing at that point. After a bit the wind really kicked up and we decided it was time to go. The fishing was tough and if I had been out there on my own I'm pretty sure I would've come home empty handed! El Gato Azul is the real deal. He never gave up and ended up finding the fish. Above all that though, it was my first time to fish with Chris. We had some great conversation and a lot of laughs. I got to fish with a true Texas Tornado and the infamous catfish-licking Disco and it was a great day. Chris if you're reading this, Thanks from the bottom of my heart man. I learned a lot and had one heck of a good time!

Congrats Geno! Very nice fish. A day fishing in the War Machine with Jaxon and Disco is always a good time!

Congrats my friend!!
That is a beautiful fish and that big beaming smile says it all!
These big Bluecat's truly are the sharks of the lakes. There is nothing, nothing, like the thrill of battling a big toad into the boat, then seeing the monster surface when you get him in.

Congratulations Geno!! Had a great time fishing with you buddy! You are welcome on my boat any time amigo. Fishing was tough and we did a lot of scanning but glad we kept grinding and finally got em figured out. I appreciate the effort you put into being friendly and contributing to the group as well. I know we will not only be friends for a long time but now we are family.
Out of the 5 guys that are on this post I consider all of yโall my friends and Catfishing brothers. Iโve had the pleasure of fishing with Geno, Tim, and Chris T, and I have no doubt I will be fishing with both Bob and Dewayne at some point as well. Catfishing has a way of bringing folks together if you put forth the effort. I wish there were more guys that wanted to be a part of the Catfishing brotherhood but to each his own.
