I have 4 Duracell AGMs from Sams and I run my livescope all day. My batteries are 3 years old now and still hold a great charge. But seems like people have different experiences with all different brands. Just wanted to share my experience with them. Hope that helps.

AGM was what I wanted to go, but the only AGM they have is the Deep Cycle size 27 one...and it had the lowest number of the bunch so just chalked those! I would if they had more options locally. Save yourself the headache....Sam's Club Group31M AGM. They are beasts and will last you all day on the water. Thats the plan. I use the Sams club for my TM and Electronics and never had a complaint....but they have these 29s with a 2 year warranty that seem to have better numbers. Stacked up side by side, is the walmart one more powerful and have better overall juice? Duracells are good on the water...but i still havent had any last me more than a couple years. Not too pricey so im wondering if i should try these out since they got the 2 year warranty vs the 1 year on the duracells. Have you had bad experience with the walmart ones? Another bonus of the walmarts...theres walmarts everywhere. Had to switch one out while i was out of town fishing....was nice to just hit the local walmart for the switchout. I was 99% sold on the duracells...but these EverStarts are looking better the more I think about it

if you go agm will the charger charge in agm mode? the duracell is made by deka in pennsylvania, excellent batteries. wal mart is made by johnson control in mexico, good batteries and all I ran for over 10 yrs. went to deka and they were better, grp 27s on the tm and a grp 24 for start/electronics, my grp 24 runs 3 garmin 9" graphs, livescope, and pumps all day with no problem. the 24 was about 125.00 when I got it at sartin marine. oh, it's 1000 mca 24 m7 at top of list is what I use for a start battery, switching to an ionic soon. https://www.eastpennmanufacturing.com/wp-content/uploads/Marine-Master-Spec-Sheet-0194.pdf

Using lithium drill batteries to run the GLS 10 sonar black box seems to be a hack gaining popularity. https://www.seeliteleds.com/products/seefish-20v-dewalt-adapterTo your question, East Penn (Deka) and Johnson Controls manufacture the vast majority of brands on the market, don't over think it and get the 2 year Everstarts from Wally World if they have them, my local ones don't. They consistently do well in tests and dealing with the warranty process is relatively painless. I went with Continental Extreme deep cycles recently and was happily glad to see 'Made in USA' stamped into the top. The set I replaced were dual purpose and had 5+ years on them. I got almost 7 years on an Everstart that came with the used bass boat I got. I'm going on two years on a set of Interstates TM batteries from Academy and two years on the Duracell AGM from Sam's for my starting batteries in my bay boat. For the most part I don't have any run time issues. I've kind of spread my chips across all the different brands and the Duracell AGM I'm the most meh about. I recently had to replace a Duracell AGM from Sam's in my wife's car at 20 months because it was failing the load tests. And those starting batteries are starting to get misshaped, which I don't think is a good sign.

Aside from the duracells they get recommended a lot too. I dont have these brands in anything higher than this 800 and 845 MCA locally. Not sure what I wanna do Using lithium drill batteries to run the GLS 10 sonar black box seems to be a hack gaining popularity. https://www.seeliteleds.com/products/seefish-20v-dewalt-adapterTo your question, East Penn (Deka) and Johnson Controls manufacture the vast majority of brands on the market, don't over think it and get the 2 year Everstarts from Wally World if they have them, my local ones don't. And those starting batteries are starting to get misshaped, which I don't think is a good sign. See I got kinda "lucky" since id never seen the 2 year ones at my local walmart or the walmart by the lake either...but I happened to be in another part of town running around and had to stop in to walmart and ducked into the battery area....and YUP! spotted that big one with the 2 year warranty. BIG fan of the duracells and they keep my graphs running strong all day with no drop off...but i dont think this last set lasted me over 3 years. Then seeing how the walmart one has the higher MCA and "amp hours".....and the 2 year warranty, im thininking of just giving these a shot with the expectation to have to buy another set in 2-3 years...but itd be the same for the duracells imo. That 2 year warranty is really pulling me toward giving them a shot....because Im also very happy with my Everstart cranking battery and got no negative experience with it. I might just do the everstarts as a temporary option for a year or 2 until the AGMs become more widely available locally...they had way more AGMs before covid hit. Thats why it was my plan to buy AGMs this round....but they dont have many options for them locally at the moment. Checked 3 different sams clubs too

I have not had any experience with the Duracell AGM, but have been running the everstart series 29 for 5+ years for my starting battery. I bought it in a pinch and it has been one of the best batteries I have ever owned. I’m running 2 HDS 12s and have not had any issues.

I haven’t used them for starting, but the everstart MAXX have worked great for my TM. For $99 and a 2 year warranty, it’s worth giving them a shot.
Now if you plan on running a 12” Garmin with LS, you will strain the battery. A 9” and LS won’t pull very many amps though. (Not sure how many amps the 10” pulls)

I have a dedicated Amped Outdoors 30ah tall lithium for my livescope and 102sv unit. Also got the 3 amp charger for it. All mounted in the starboard rod box, doesn't take up much space at all. Can run almost two days without charging. They may show out of stock but you wil get a promt to chat. Do that and they can tell you if the do or don't and when they're expected. Great people to work with. All for around $225. Worth a look. Link
