Just filled up at 4 dollars a gallon diesel 138 dollars… fuel for Rayburn this weekend will be more than our entry fee and lodging

Well, our stations jumped .25¢ today, I’m just about there. Im guess it will be once a month, instead of every weekend.

IF Goldman Sachs is correct in their estimate on the price of oil ($185/barrel) later this year, your estimate may be closer than you know. Daniel

$185/barrel for oil....sure would be a hell of a bonus if I still worked oil field

I will just start eating what I catch. The money I save on groceries will off set the gas cost. Cant wait to see what a Bass taste like after all these years!

Definitely taking a hit in the wallet. I kept the boat tank fairly low over the winter. This morning I put $100 in the boat and got 25 gallons and just below 3/4 of a tank. Filled the truck up with $50.
It’s an hour drive from Abilene to Hubbard creek. I practiced about 6 hours and burned 1/4 of a tank of boat gas.
The truck was at half by the time I made back home.
So I’ll have to refill the truck up before the tournament Saturday. The boat will be good at 1/2 tank but might close to 1/4 by the end of the day. But thats $200 in gas in 3 days. 3 1/2 years ago it would have been around $80.

This is why I'm glad I have a boat with a Vmax SHO. It's not killing that part of my fishing budget, but I can't say that for my pickup. It's what is going to nail my feet to the floor with these gas prices. I'd planned to fish ABA and BFL Cowboy enough to qualify for the championships this year but that may not happen. I'll fish local until things get better and it's one of the reasons, I'm wanting to bring Big Creek Lake here in Delta County back to life. I need a place close by to chase the big girls.
