I am planning a trip this coming fall to the Coast. I usually go to Rockport area but I am flexible. I would like a to rent a place that has a private lighted fishing pier that has a good track record. I stayed last year in one of Kitty's fishing cottage at Rockport and it was ok. I just didn't catch much and it was very shallow. I was there in October thinking I would hit the prime time. well nope.. I usually do a guide trip or two and stay on the island a few days as well. thanks, for any suggestions

They are all shallow, and unless the pier has bright green lights for trout, your luck is probably going to be the same, unless a school of fish runs through. From a bay pier your most likely catches are Black Drum, sheepshead, and stuff you don't want to handle.
