I got 4 Mad Katz rods on Saturday for free. I'll get to that story in a minute. But the conference was definitely worth the drive from Huntsville. The amount of vendors was amazing. Justin with Kayak Catfish was there and the most popular YouTuber in attendance.

Not sure how many of his new Golly Whopper rods he sold because people like me were lined to to have our picture taken with him. I found my dream boat (Hewes) but lack the $90k in funds to buy one (or $575 a month for 240 months).

Catfish Sumo is where I usually buy my tackle from. So I stocked up on hooks, sinker sliders, and his skipjack spoons. Then off to the vendor that had every kind of lead weight you might need. Pick a bag, fill it and it is sold by the ounce. Next up was the Never Lost anchor booth to buy a spare anchor. Don, bought two KastKing reels after checking a lot of others (he is left handed) and the KastKing reels felt the best. The last place we visited was Mad Katz. I selected 4 rods and paid The Man $344.

But wait Nut, you said they were free? I went to the casino on Friday night. Bought in at the BlackJack table with $200. Quickly ran up my winnings to over $100. I cashed in my original $200 for 2 $100 chips and started using their money to gamble. The usual up and down dance started playing. After an hour or so Don walked over, tapped me on my shoulder and said he was headed over to the cashier window to cash out. I was down to $30 and said that was two hands and would probably be wiped out by the time he got back. Well, when he got back I was up again. I still had my $200 in chips in my pocket, so what I had on the table I bet on one last hand. Dealt two Aces. Crud, now I got to bust out one of those $100 chips so I can split them. Boom, Double BlackJack! That hand payed $340 and that my friends is how I got four free Mad Katz rods at the Catfish Conference.

Awesome on the luck at the Casino, and the new toys. I can walk into a Casino with no money, and still walk out down. LOL

Awesome!!

Man, I wish I had travelled to that.

Q. Are you going back to go for the $90K win at the casino??

Great pic of you and Justin Carey. Wish I'd been able to make it to Louisville. If I went in to a casino I would just give them my money and walk out. I have the worst luck gambling of anybody I know... Good got you though. And you are gonna love those rods!
