I'd consider a USA made fixed blade over anything but for the money, a Taiwan made Cold Steel 49LCKZ SRK with the Japanese SK-5 blade is a great knife. ringer TFF Team Angler R Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 4,293 Arizona	I have a 30 year old Gerber assault knife. Two sided fixed blade with a metal handle. Has a quick release sheath. You couldn't carry in a bar here so I used to tuck it away when in the rougher cowboy bars where I was hunting. Kept it sharp as a razor. Idea with the design was one thrust in and pull right then left and sever the heart in half. Never had to use it but then I always have a pistol within arms reach and never had to fire it either. At 73 I think I will give it all up and just sh1t my pants when attacked.
