Guess it's plausible considering the line is attached to the reel, but I'm not a Physic's guy. confused 3

Line and rod play more of a role in transmitting sensitivity. A reel made of magnesium or aluminum will have a more solid feel when cranking.

Bite transmits from the line --> to the rod --> to your hand. I'd say the reel material is not a contributing factor to sensitivity.

Just my 2cents.

I think reel material contributes more to the overall weight of the rod/reel than sensitivity.

Weight of the reel effects fatigue which in turn effects your ability to "feel". Line and the rod are more pivotal in the sensitivity equation.

Absolutely!

I have a JDM reel made from Unobtanium that I can feel a fish fart from 75 yards away.

And if you had a JDM FFS pointed toward that fish, you could watch it fart.

But can you determine it’s weight by the size of the bubbles

It's not the arrow, it's the Indian.

I have a bunch of unobtanium stored in my garage. When the price spikes I’ll be recycling it for big $$$ and then it will actually exist!
