Can you flip and pitch with 12 pound fluorocarbon or is that too light?

Too light for me.

Do it all the time on clear water Belton. Just have to check your line for damage quite frequently.

Sounds like a recipe for heartache. 15lb minimum for pitching around cover with FC. I’d sleep better spooling up with 20lb.

Your question "can you flip and pitch with 12# fluorocarbon line" No I can't because I don't want to break off fish often and loose the baits I am pitching with. I use 15# as the lightest test line if the cover isn't too heavy but mostly I use 20# test.
I do use 12# test lines for finesse fishing but not for pitching.

Nothing wrong with 12#, just depends on the type of cover/structure you're flipping in.

Depends what you're flipping into...Any structure at all I would say no. Rock on bottom...maybe.

I’ve caught many with 12 lb Seagur and a 1/4 bitsey bug.6-10 is the biggest I’ve caught.

Yes. I flip shot with #4.

I have before but honestly broke a bunch off at hookset. That could be the rod more than though as I don’t have same problem with 15lb invisx.

Would 15 pound be okay on a 4 power rod ?
