Client probably wouldn’t have caught it anyway. From what I understand he gives them the first shot at the fish. Besides being able to find them, he seems to be equally proficient at presenting his bait the correct way to get the fish to bite. He almost makes it seem too easy. And it’s not. Heck of a catch for sure.

He said in the live video that his buddy actually made the cast but gave up on the retrieve because of the cold. He did get to net the beast.

Didn’t see that. I’d be sick. That being said, JJ is for sure dialed in. Battling the cold, finding the fish, getting them to bite, and after all that still have to land them. Hope he gets the lake record.

It's simply nuts what the guy is doing. I will be in the boat with him soon enough and can't wait to see what how he's doing this.

His scales said 15.10, but she clocked in at 14.79. I just watched the FB live. 20 degree weather w/ 20mph winds. They were the only ones on the lake. They deserve all the accolades. Very impressive!

I would really like to add OH Ivie to the list of bodies of water I have fished. I wonder if I will ever be able to. I can't help but think that every place to stay within 100 miles is taken. I don't have any delusions of catching a SAL but would like to fish the lake for a few days.

Elm Creek had rooms available earlier today for next week. This time of year can be tough without using the live sonar. You can go catch tons of fish from the salt cedars once the spawn starts up though. Saw the results from a small club tournament last week and it looked pretty tough.

It’s not as bad as people make it sound. The lake fishes fairly big, I’ve never felt overly crowded and seem to always find a room at elm creek especially during the week. But there is a few other motels in the area that i haven’t needed to use yet. It’s a fun place to fish but don’t expect to go catch a bunch of big ones. It’s not nearly as easy has Josh makes it look. He spends a ton of time on the water. Every time ive been there when he is he’s usually the first on the water and the last off the water no matter the conditions.

As long as you arent calling the day before or week of you should be good at Elm. Theres Elm, Concho and Sportsmans that I think are the closest....and they all had availability last winter and a month or so when I called. its packed as hell 100%.....but us common folk cant stay there for a week or more the way the youtubers and guides do. They cycle people threw the rooms and I can almost guarantee you can find something just based on the couple/few times ive called in. I like Elm because theyll cook you food before they close the grills and leave it in your room. Pretty solid since youll be fishing hard and might not wanna deal with that kinda extra stuff that takes your time.....cuz keep in mind its literally in the middle of nowhere. If youre stressed with life and wanna go somewhere where connection sucks and just get away....that place seems hard to beat. Sky lights up with stars in the night too...super chill vibe!

Unless you are Jon B who caught three 10+ in one day. He caught a 14+ a few weeks earlier and released it.
