My son and I had our first game of catch. He played t-ball last year but most of what we did was roll the ball to him so he could field it, and he'd toss it back to me, but you never knew where it would go. Now he is 7 and he was actually throwing the ball straight and the right way, and he caught about 80% of the balls I threw him. It might have only lasted about 10min, but it was an awesome 10min to me. He's already got our gloves out this morning asking to play catch again.

That is awesome! Baseball is a great sport for all kids to learn. Wish I would have stuck with it instead of switching to racing motorcycles....

Ratz, if he's playing ball this year, the best thing is to do all you can to make him the best player on the field. Those cheers, backslaps, high 5's he gets from making a good play will stay with him his whole life. Will help him have confidence in whatever he does. Besides that, it's the most fun a Dad can have.

After playing all the years that I did and throwing with my daughter and son for years, my shoulder is about gone. I got just enough left to play catch with my grandkids when the time comes.

The day my kids quit baseball and started playing soccer was the saddest day of my life. I put my glove on the top shelf in my closet and held back tears. Baseball is great.
