I have more memory in any cell phone I've had in the last 15 years than any HB graph. Maybe the Apex is a little better but I can tell you after downloading/exporting areas of North TX and even specific lakes because the HB units cant hold more than about 3k waypoints including trails/routes makes me sick. I seriously have around 10 chips and then trying to export new brushpiles or anything is a total nightmare.
Do you Lowrance or Garman guys have this issue?

Use Hummingbird for 360. Use Lowrance for the mapping. Use Garman for Livescope.

Maybe just switch everything to Lowrance? I know their units have more memory and their live is apparently excellent.
Is the side imaging on Lowrance good?

I've been looking at buying new gear since my bug came with old, antiquated equipment, HB 788's and an 1197 SI. Everything I've looked at so far can't be delivered until May at the earliest. Plan ahead.

Is the side imaging on Lowrance good? It’s mediocre at best. HB side imaging is the best.

I have RAN into the same problem with my HB units, and I solved it like this.
I have a 10 Helix on the bow and it shares info with the console unit.
So I can mark trails and WP on the bow unit and it will show up on the console unit.
So about 6000 WP total between the 2 units and trails. Hope this helps.

Which HB units do you have? The Solix and Apex do have a much higher capacity for waypoints. All HB units have a 50 track limit but the Solix & Apex are capable of handling track segments. That means you can use some software and join as many tracks as you want into 1 track as long as you don’t exceed the limit of track points for a combined track. I don’t remember the exact limit of track points for each track but I believe it is 20,000. Maybe you could save all your info by lake then you would only have to load the particular lake you are fishing. You can consolidate the info from your 10 chips into 1 file then you would only need 1 chip. The process for importing/exporting Solix and Apex units is much different and a lot simpler than loading to older Numbered units and Helix units. Even though it’s a little different for those units, there’s no need for 10 different chips.
Have a Blessed Day, Mike

Is the side imaging on Lowrance good? It’s mediocre at best. HB side imaging is the best. Very strongly disagree with this based on my first hand experience with both units. Im a HB fanboy....100%! shouldve heard me gassing up live before it came out with the "leaks" i saw. HB side imaging is a solid 10.....Lowrance with the 3 in 1 transducer is an 8...at worst! You will not see anything on humminbird SI or DI that you wont on the lowrance with the 3 in 1...i promise. the literal only difference is that HB is crisper....thats it. I have a lowrance Ti2 9 inch with 3 in 1 ducer on my bow and a Helix 12 Mega g3n on my console. First week I got my bird I spent a good couple hours just drinking beer and idling and comparing them both. Mostly because I was so impressed by the Ti2 and it was the first unit I got...so when I added the much pricier Helix i wanted to compare to see how much better it was. There is NOTHING that you will miss with the 3 in 1 ducer, even on the lower end Ti/Elite units that you would be able to see on the HB.
