So I've been fishing Calaveras for over 12 years now, but not a lot in the past 5. Back then, you could go slip cork along the reeds and catch 20+ channels easily, but they were typically 12" to 16". So last Friday I went to give it a try, and man, the channels are bigger!

I'm really glad they now have the new limits on blue and channel cats at 15 fish with a minimum of 14" and that should help also.
Those catfish have been abused for many years, and the decline in numbers and size, although not all caused by fishing pressure it sure didn't help.
15 fish is plenty and more than I care to fillet at one time!

I agree 100%! I do wish they’d put an upper size limit on the Blues. A lot of people don’t realize they don’t stock Blues.
