anyone here ever had to jump off li-on trolling motor battery to start the boat?
wondering if it is a good or bad idea due to amp draw to start.

Won’t work unless it’s a starter rated lithium. You could leave the jumpers hooked to the starting battery and hope it transfer’s enough voltage to let the regular cranker fire over.

It is a good reason to go with the 100 ah cranking rated lithiums on the TM vs the 50’s; but more $$$ obviously.

I bought one of these for my boat but I carry it in my truck too. Works great! Used it on my sister's car and boom, it started right up. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09N37C4LG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_detailsJust noticed these were out of stock but they do have others available. Just tray to match the specs. anyone here ever had to jump off li-on trolling motor battery to start the boat?

If you can afford lithium why not have a 2nd cranker in the boat?

If you can afford lithium why not have a 2nd cranker in the boat? taking the chance that the durability is what they advertise on the ionics, 11 yr. warranty. next will be a 125 ah start battery, not worried about the deka I have now as it is a grp24 agm and only 3 yrs. old weight loss is main reason to change out.
