Caught my first bass of the year on the Ole fly rod. A nice 19 incher. I spent most of the day fishing in the trees with conventional gear to get accustomed to the livescope. In hindsight I should have just stuck with the fly rod all day. I didn't use it till the end of the day. Saw some fish while drifting and put the pole down. Caught this one after a few casts. Great fight and heart pumping action. Had to end the day immediately after taking this picture. Noticed some green spots on the boat. It was from a snapped hose to the power pole..... took me a while to figure out how to get the pole back up but luckily my dad talked me through it. Leaving other rods at the house next time I plan to fly fish.

I've been following the Somerville thread and loading up on clousers jmoe. Believe me it was a hard decision to pass up the white bass run but I'm glad everyone is taking advantage of a great run. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to catch the tail end of it this year. May have to take a day!

Heck yea. Largemouth bass, especially when they are shallow, are super fun on fly tackle.
